I love this fabric dollhouse by UK lass in US. It is so cute and simple, but can inspire so much fun. My daughter would love something like this, so I am adding it here to my list of future projects. The project appears to be very simple and easy. It can easily be catered to any child's interests - barn, firehouse, dollhouse, garage.... the possibilities are endless.

I love this idea. A portable, take it with you, keep it forever growth chart for children. They grow up so fast. And kids enjoy seeing how much they grow. I found the tutorial in the Moda Bake Shop. It was designed by Vanessa Wilson of Crafty Gemini. Such a cute idea. At first I thought I would make one and use it for all of my children. Then I thought, no, I need to make three, so they can each keep theirs forever.
A few years ago, at Christmas time a friend gave me this delicious gooey chex cereal treat. Fast forward to this year. I wanted to make some and share it with friends. I scoured the internet for it earlier this week and couldn't find it. Finally I asked my facebook friends if anyone knew what it was called and how to make it. Thankfully, a few of them knew what it was and had the recipe. They all gave different names for it. I call it sweet and gooey chex mix. It is easy and delicious. And since the recipe is hard to find, I thought I would share. Sweet and Gooey Chex Mix
3/4 C butter 1 C light corn syrup 1 C sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 large box rice chex 1/2 large box corn chex 1 C sweetened coconut 1 C slivered almonds In large bowl mix chex cereals, coconut and almonds. In medium sauce pan combine butter, karo syrup and sugar. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla. Pour over dry mixture. Mix well. Store in air tight container. Variations Add dried cranberries to the bowl before pouring sugar mixture on top. Add Chocolate Chips once the whole mixture has cooled (wait at least an hour - I didn't, and mine melted. But it still tasted great!). Use Almond extract in place of the vanilla. I made two batches, one with chocolate chips added and one with the cranberries and the almond extract. The cranberries and the almond extract was a perfect combination and gave a gourmet flavor to it. I intended to take a picture of it, but it disappeared too quickly. It was so delicious! ENJOY and Merry Christmas! |
