I based the stockings off of a tutorial by Our Cozy Nest on the Moda Bake Shop blog. I would have loved to go back to the fabric store and get the cute Christmas fabric I saw there last week, but I knew that would delay the project. So, I forced myself to use the fabric I had on hand (this way, I will have an excuse next year to buy the cute fabric). But as you can see, they are still cute even without the latest designer fabric!
I did follow the second part of step three - using a decorative stitch down the ditch of each seam. I used a different stitch for each stocking, and I love the unique look that they give.
I made the reverse side of the stockings a little more classic, if I ever want a change, I can just flip them over. Oh, by the way, when cutting the fabric for the back, make sure you turn the pattern over. I forgot that part, and had to piece them back together, as I had already done the monogram stitching with my embroidery machine. Opps!
Now if only I had a chimney to hang them with care on....
